Customer ServiceThere is sufficient space in the United States to site large-scale renewable energy technologies, yet siting decisions are often highly contentious with conflicting land-use values.
Customer ServiceConstruction of large-scale solar power plants is currently bottlenecked due to permits needed from local agencies concerned with environmental impacts.
Customer ServiceA brief overview of some of the claims associated with solar power projects. SOLAR power is seen as a cost-effective way of achieving net zero targets. In 2021, the UK added 730MW to its solar capacity, taking the UK''s overall capacity to 14.6GW. Solar energy is expected to more than double by 2030 and will therefore continue to be a key part

The encroachment of these illegal constructions obstructs the widespread implementation of rooftop solar PV systems, inhibiting their potential contribution to the renewable energy landscape
Customer ServiceThe design and construction of facilities for the generation of electrical power from solar resources is an area that is filled with risk and opportunity. The goal of this chapter is to provide an overview of the legal issues encountered in the course of engineering and constructing utility-scale or distributed generation solar energy projects
Customer ServiceA 30-year old photovoltaic plant is seen to occupy ∼15% less land than a coal power plant of the same age. As the age of the power plant increases, the land use intensity of photovoltaic power becomes significantly smaller than that for coal power.
Large-scale solar power plants are being developed at a rapid rate, and are setting up to use thousands or millions of acres of land globally. The environmental issues related to the installation and operation phases of such facilities have not, so far, been addressed comprehensively in the literature.
Solar EPC contracts generally provide fixed dates for project completion. If the contractor fails to complete on time, it will often be liable for liquidated damages (LDs), unless it is entitled to claim an extension of time to the completion date, thereby reducing or avoiding liability for LDs.
Our appraisals assume that electricity generated by new solar power facilities will displace electricity from traditional U.S. generation technologies. Altogether we find 22 of the considered 32 impacts to be beneficial. Of the remaining 10 impacts, 4 are neutral, and 6 require further research before they can be appraised.
Solar energy is expected to more than double by 2030 and will therefore continue to be a key part of the UK’s decarbonisation strategy. The main parties to solar projects will often include the: Developer (employer) – who obtains planning consent and finance for the project. Contractor – who is responsible for building the solar plant.
Researchers in Taiwan are proposing a market-based incentive scheme to help property owners to move from using their roofs for illegal dwellings to rooftop solar power generation. They found these owners should be rewarded for solar power generation but also be compensated for the income loss due to the removal of illegal rentals.
