Initially, China prioritized wind power for renewable energy development due to its well-established technology. However, the Key Points of New Energy and Renewable Energy Industry Development Planning 2000–2015, published in 2000, marked the beginning of China''s interest in solar photovoltaic technology [27]. In the early stages, critical
Customer ServiceSolar developers are speaking out about the need to diversify solar supply
Customer ServiceFrom Tables 1 and 2, the total environmental damage caused by solar photovoltaic technology is 6.66 × 10 −3 yuan/kWh, and the total environmental damage caused by coal-fired power generation technology is 52.16 × 10 −3 yuan/kWh. This result indicates that although solar photovoltaic causes environmental damage, the effect is less than that of coal
Customer ServiceSolar developers are speaking out about the need to diversify solar supply chain to achieve clean energy goals, given reliance on China. Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act''s (UFLPA) impact on the U.S. solar industry, leading to supply disruptions and delays.

Analysis of 20 of the leading Chinese solar PV companies shows 343 offices in 70 countries around the world (Fig. 3). While the highest number of offices are devoted to sales and service support, subsidiaries serve a variety of functions to include manufacturing, investment holding, operations and maintenance, and project construction. Fig. 3.
China's trade value for solar PV module exports increased to $18.1 billion in 2018 from $16.3 billion in 2017, and the average value of solar PV exports by month have continued to rise through the end of 2019 (Fig. 1).
In addition, China is responsible for the processing of rare earth elements that are mined abroad. China worked hard to maintain its position as a leader in the production of assembled PVs and their parts. The country has also majorly invested in installed capacities.
